Juan Bauste Granda is from Santiago de Cuba where he was the musical director of the Conjunto Folklórico del Oriente, the oldest folklore ballet in Cuba. His career features many national and international numerous performances, tours and workshops. He also worked on record productions and Concerts with Anga Diaz, Los Papines and Mercedita Valdés.
His extraordinary knowledge of both popular music, such as Salsa, Timba, Mambo, Cha Cha Chá and Rumba as well as Cuban folklore (such as Bembé or Conga Oriental) make him one of the leading percussionists in eastern Cuba.
On the invitation of the Salsatanzschule Conexion and the percussion business Bongolei, he has been a musician, percussion teacher and lecturer for Cuban music in Germany since August 2012. He is currently working as a lecturer nationwide. Experience in numerous workshops and teaching units, in groups or individual lessons, make him an experienced teacher. He has a special didactic, which his students appreciate very much.
