Arturo Martinez Cabrera

Arturo Martinez Cabrera was born in Havana (Cuba) and grew up surrounded by a big musical family. Since childhood he was introduced to the full range of Cuban music and played at a young age Rumba, Son, Mambo and Cha-Cha-Cha in different bands of Havana as a percussionist and singer and was musical director of the award-winning Comparsa "Los Componedores de Batea ". Protagonist of renowned Rumba Band "Clave y Guaguanco" crowned by a Latin Grammy for the album "La Rumba Soy Yo". Numerous tours have taken him throughout Europe. He was musical co-director of the English Latin Orchestra "La Timbala" and lived and worked for many years in Barcelona before he finally settled in Hamburg.

Maestro Arturo is an internationally recognized lecturer in Afro-Cuban music and lead singer and percussionist in Latin jazz bands such as "Delirio Habanero", "Raizamusic", "Oro Negro" and he plays with the salsa orchestra "Cubanisimo". Since 2010 he has been musical director of the annual Afro-Cuban Guaguanco festivals in Barcelona. Without question, one of the largest Arturo Afro-Cuban musicians worldwide.
